  • Hi!

My name is Cathrine Ro Heuch, and I've struggled with migraines for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a child really. Of course, I didn't really understand what it was at first, and it took a long time for me to understand what caused it. It wasn't until I became a relative adult that it became clear to me that stress and poor sleep were the trigger for me. But how do you "solve" stress?

The answer for me appeared quite randomly. I was a student at NTNU, had just completed a master's degree in chemistry, and was continuing my studies at Entreprenørskolen. Entreprenørskolen is a fun place to be for many reasons, one of which is that researchers and technologists are constantly showcasing the innovative solutions they have come up with. Everything from new boat propellers to new medicine. And one day, I got to see a research project that hit me right in the heart.

"We believe this will be a new chapter in stress relief for many people"

A PhD student and a doctor (who later became part of our team) from St. Olav's Hospital had been searching for a treatment for migraines in children who could not receive medication. The starting point was treatment with biofeedback, which already had a well-documented effect, but was expensive and not widely available. They had an idea, and the idea needed an implementer. I raised my hand.

Today, I'm almost glad we didn't realize at the time that it would take 10 years from the birth of the idea to Cenli finally being fully developed. It takes time to make something that works, a long time. But it's worth it. Along the way, the team has grown, and every day I'm almost starstruck by the expertise around me. Our advisors include a professor of neurology and senior consultant at St. Olav's Hospital, an associate professor of clinical neuropsychology and a doctor with primary expertise in the use of biofeedback for migraine. Our quality manager is the fantastic Jenny, who has a master's degree in biotechnology. We have our product designer Petter, who has a master's degree in industrial design from NTNU, and our software developer Åse, who has a master's degree in cybernetics and robotics, and even more super talented (and super nice) technologists. It was the expertise of this group that made me confident that we would make it happen. And now we're here.

We believe this will be a whole new chapter in stress relief for many people. And I can't wait to hear your experiences!
